I often start my Monday by complaining about how it is Monday. Sometimes it’s just really hard to get my week started and having to wake up early after two mornings of sleeping in can be difficult.

Here and there I have been talking about some lifestyle changes I’ve been trying to make. One of the new ways that I’m getting my day started is with a protein packed smoothie. If you try to avoid added sugars, smoothies can be a really healthy drink that can keep you full throughout the morning. I have been switching back and forth between kale and spinach in my smoothies as a way to get an extra dose of greens in my day. I’m a big fan of organicgirl greens because they come triple-washed and ready to use.

The inspiration behind this smoothie actually came from one of my coworkers. I like using blueberries for their antioxidant powers, chia seeds for the protein and almond milk for a nice, creamy finish. I prefer to go with vanilla almond milk, but that’s your call. To keep me full longer, I also add in a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Overall this smoothie is a great way to start your day.
