- 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Litehouse garlic
- 1/2 tablespoon Litehouse basil
- 1 teaspoon Litehouse parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flake
- 3 tablespoons shredded Romano
- Salt
I’m really bummed that the weather is changing, mostly because my herb garden has died. Fresh herbs tend to be expensive and so I’m always looking for a good alternative to them but still something that retains the flavor. The Litehouse Instantly Fresh herbs and spices that I’m using in this post (and giving away) are a really good alternative to fresh herbs and I couldn’t tell the difference!
This focaccia would make for a great side dish at your holiday meal or appetizer at a party. I prepared an herb infused oil with the Litehouse herbs and allowed it to sit for 2 days before using it on the bread. I used the remaining infused oil along with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to dip the bread. This is super easy and quick!
Combine the oil with the basil, garlic, parsley and red pepper flakes and allow it to sit for 1-2 days. Roll out the pizza dough into a 12×8 square. Lay the dough on a greased baking sheet and spread the oil evenly over the surface. Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and allow it to rise for an hour.
After the dough has risen, use your thumbs to make dimples in the top of the bread. Sprinkle a course sea salt along with the Romano cheese over the top and bake at 400 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes, until it is golden brown. Cut the bread and serve it warm with the remaining olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
And now for the giveaway! Here’s your chance to win a collection of Litehouse Instantly Fresh herbs including basil, parsley, garlic, chives, cilantro, dill, poultry seasoning and red onion.

I am not good at using herbs without a recipe. But I would say thyme and rosemary.
My favorite herb to cook with is basil. I feel like you can add it most dishes and it adds a great flavor. I am especially fond of fresh basil (grow lots in my garden during the warm months!)
I don’t do the cooking but I know that my husband loves to use fresh basil!
