Wow! I cannot believe that I am actually typing this post celebrating FIVE years of blogging! Never would I have imagined that I’d be where I’m at with this blog five years ago. I know that every year I tell the story about how my now husband scoffed when I told him I wanted to start a blog. He thought it would not last more than 2 weeks. So to that I say, IN YOUR FACE because for five years I have been going strong. Happy 5th Birthday, Food n’ Focus!
I decided to work with my friends over at Minted to throw a little party to celebrate all of the hard work that I have put in over the past five years. I used Minted when I was working on my wedding and think that they offer a great line of party decor, invitations and art. I was looking for something pink to match the colors of my blog and landed on the Sparkle Fête party theme. I love that they offer prepackaged parties that allow you to pick and choose which decoration features are most important to you to throw the most amazing party. You can also purchase all of the items a la carte.
I started with the personalized bunting banner to create a birthday sign that featured infamous macaroon photo. I also selected the personalized table signs, table confetti and a table runner that was totally custom! I also picked out some adorable pink paper straws for my cocktails and some adorable cupcake toppers. I ended up going with a cake instead of cupcakes, so I’ll save those for another party. More on that cake later!
It was so quick and easy to use Minted to create the perfect party decorations for my little soiree. Of course the next most important thing was the cake. I worked with my favorite baker here in Milwaukee to create a cake that replicated my iconic macaroon photo. Baked Custom Desserts is located right here in Milwaukee and Rachel makes some of the most delicious cakes that I have ever tasted. We used her for our wedding cake and other birthday cakes over the past few years. I told her that I wanted the Lemon Raspberry Torte and she did the rest! If you live anywhere in Southeastern Wisconsin, try her cake. You will never want another cake!
So here we are at five years of fun. I’m looking forward to what the next year holds for Food n’ Focus, and the next 5 years! Happy Birthday!
