It’s Monday. I spent most of last week on the road and away from my kitchen. I spent a lot of time in the car driving all the way from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. This trip included a lot of farms, a hunt to spot Amish people and a lot of eating in the car. I try to eat somewhat healthy while I’m on the road and I like to keep my meals on the fresh side. It’s really difficult to eat a salad while you’re driving so I am always looking for new fresh options that can be eaten with 1 hand.
You’ve probably been seeing the commercials for the new Taco Bell Cantina Steak Burritos. The one where Chef Lorena Garcia is in search of the perfect steak. Ring a bell? Apparently the commercials are memorable enough that I remembered this while on the road last week. The large flour tortilla wraps itself around Latin rice, flavorful black beans, crisp romaine lettuce, guacamole made from real Hass avocados, fresh pico de gallo, roasted corn and pepper salsa and a creamy cilantro dressing. And of course the thick-cut steak. Sounded good to me!
And the verdict…delicious. I think my favorite part was the guacamole and the flavor combination was perfect. The ingredients seemed to be high quality and fresh and it was perfect for a lunch on the go. The next time you’re in a lunch or dinner rush, I would highly recommend trying one.
This post is sponsored by Taco Bell. See how great our steak is when you try the new Cantina Steak Burrito. Because when it comes to a great steak burrito, it’s all about the steak.

I have been wanting to try one of those. I agree that eating healthy while traveling is a huge challenge.
I recently had one of these, it’s not your typical fast food burrito. Fresh taste and lots of steak!
